The first compulsory standard for children's wear was implemented on June 1.

On June 1st, children's clothing mandatory standard GB31701-2015 "technical specification for infants and children textile product safety will be formally implemented, this is China's first mandatory standards for children's clothing, implementation of the transitional period of 2 years. The national standard requires that infant and baby textile products should be labeled with "baby products". Infants and children under the age of 7 are not allowed to have any rope in their head and neck. Products manufactured before June 1, 2016 and conforming to relevant standards shall be allowed to continue to be sold in the market until May 31, 2018.
 
As the first domestic infant child textile products specifically for compulsory standards, the new standard fully absorb and draw lessons from the developed countries about the infant child textile product safety technical regulations, the degree of its strict standard has transcended the developed countries. According to the new implementation standard, children's clothing will be divided into infant and infant textile products and children's textile products.
 
In terms of product identification, children's security technology is divided into categories A,B and C, category A is the best, class B is second, and class C is the basic requirement. Among them, infant and infant textile products should conform to category A requirements; Children's textile products that have direct contact with the skin should be at least in accordance with class B requirements; Children's textile products that are not directly exposed to the skin should be at least in accordance with class C requirements. In the future, children's textile products should be marked with "baby products" in addition to all children's clothes, which should be labeled as safe.
 
In terms of chemical safety requirements, the standard increases the limited requirements of six plasticizers, lead and cadmium 2 heavy metals. In mechanical safety standards for children's wear rope at different positions of the head and neck, shoulder, waist and so on to make detailed regulations, require infants and children under the age of 7 clothing head and neck don't allow any rope; The standard has also provided for textile accessories, requiring that the attachment should have a certain tensile strength, and should not have sharp points and edges; Additional combustion performance requirements are also added.
